Cedar Bluff Lodge is located half-way between Denver and Kansas City along the Smokey Valley Scenic Byway, turn right at Exit 135 off I-70 onto Highway 147, the lodge is 16 miles south of I-70. Overlooking Cedar Bluff Reservoir the lodge is surrounded by rock bluffs, rolling natural grasses and wildflowers. Located on private property the area is home to the finest upland game birds and Kansas wildlife in the state. Cedar Bluff Reservoir has been recognized nationally for its bass and crappie fishing.

Th’ Gatherin - 1st weekend in May

A celebration of light and heritage that is held on the grassy hillsides of Cedar Bluff State Park. Highlights include highland games, storytelling contests, the medieval ‘Feast of the Warriors’ and live Celtic musicians.

Prairie Fest - September

Trego County Courthouse Square is the center of the action for the Prairie Fest. Flea market finds, old-fashioned craft demonstrations and live entertainment. Good foods and a beer garden round out the fun.

December - Saturday following Thanksgiving

Christmas City of the High Plains centering around the lighting of the 35 foot live Christmas tree, this celebration is billed as the ‘largest between Kansas City and Denver’ along I-70. More than 6,000 lights decorate the downtown area of WaKeeney.
